These were taken on the first night, just around dusk, and the clouds had come down to below the tree tops.
Imagine a light misty rain, and listen to the birdsong...
I have promised myself, (I could play with the photos all day and night), that I would 'do' them only a few at a time, and not be obsessive about it, and do some other things, like the bits that need to be done in the garden, and catching up around everybody's blogs, to see what's been going on while I've been swanning around in the mountain tops.
our hideaway holiday spot at Calurla.
The spectacular mountain views are here
Andrea has given me some geranium cuttings that need to be put into pots, so I will have a 'Calurla Geranium Garden', and need to add some ground-cover to the sand around the gazebo. Currently researching types of grass and how to prepare and things like that. We'll see...

Della, that was super. What did you use to make it?
Hi Steve, thanks.
I took still photos with the digital camera, then let the video run for a while to pick up the birdcalls for the audio. Aren't they fantastic, so many different birds, even a storm bird...
I had to use a combination of QuickTime and Windows Movie Maker to separate the audio out and add it together with the pictures the way it is now - and I use blip.tv to access the finished movie on-line, it's a great service easy and fast to use.
I didn't get much else done though, and I have to go to work tomorrow, so I'm doing some visiting tonight, I am so far behind with my reading!
Thanks for your kind words...
Stop posting those pics and sounds Della...you are just doing that to tease me! Not only with the location but with your expertise with the digital camera. Here I am battling to learn and understand this Konica Minolta I received this week...it's got all the bells and whistles and I think I'll need a licence to operate it! ;)
I think I'll give up and go back to colouring-in books! ;)
ah Lee, but I still battle with it, the thing is I enjoy a challenge, so I always want to do things I don't know how to do, learning new things is half the fun, even if I have new bald patches on my head, and bloodshot eyes from lack of sleep.
:-)
Della
Absolutely wonderful, Della! I love the eastern whipbird and that one sounded so close. I also could hear the crows in the background, the channelled billed cuckoos and right at the end, a koel. I swear I could feel the coolness and smell the bush!
Della, you make it sound so easy.
Same with me, Della...I'm not going to let it beat me! I can't...I have to win! lol
hahaha Steve!
Puss - I should/could have had a photo of the whip-bird, it actually came and sat on a branch right in front of us a few days later, but of course by the time I grabbed the camera.....
Not only are you a great photographer, you are a great techie, too! What a treat this was, Della. Now I want to there.
A super show Della, and a beautiful location too.
Loved this, Della, although I had to switch to Internet Explorer to access the file.
I don't think I'll be tackling something like this any time soon! You are a real wizard at this digital stuff!
that was beautiful! I'm sufficently jealous!
That was truly amazing. I grow geraniums, I really love them. They always perform well, even under the most difficut cicumstances they seem to soldier on.
Thanks for visiting Cheers Margaret
BEAUTIFUL pictures!
Thanks for voting Della...I hope she wins! And if you get a chance, do vote again through January 21st. The rule is one vote per computer per day....I wish I had 6 computers...(lol) or at least 2!
Oh Della, that little video is just wonderful! I had my volume on and could hear the birds...it felt like I was right there with you:-) What a lovely scenery right out the door!! Thanks so much for sharing this:-) Hugs xox
