Apparently this has done the rounds before, so some have probably seen it already, but I think it's funny...
talk about 'caught in the act'.
The legend says it was taken in the dark, during a lightening storm, with a flash. Could be...
and - we (in Australia) worry about snakes and sharks and creepy crawly things...
The Ruapahu Lahar [New Zealand]
It was at Tangiwai on Christmas Eve 1953 that a major lahar, roaring down the slopes of the mountain, washed out the railway bridge, plunging the overnight Express train from Wellington to Auckland into a maelstrom of water, mud and rocks. One hundred and fifty-three people lost their lives in New Zealand's worst rail disaster.
On 23rd September 1995the mountain erupted violently, leaving a solid wall of ash around the crater rim and creating a lake that was bound to breach at some time in the future, recreating the conditions which caused the fatal 1953 mud-flood.
Last Sunday, 18th March 2007, the seven-metre high soft rock and ash dam that had penned the lake since 1995 finally gave way. The escaping water gouged out rocks and earth and other debris carrying them down the mountain in the classic mudflow know as a lahar.

A Bloggers Paradox
"As a person who began formally blogging in 2000, I’ve had to question, and re-question, how I use my blog, and why..."
"After years of thinking and re-thinking whether the personal should be separated from the “work” I have come to the same decision over and over again. I am me. This blog is called molly.com for a reason. It’s about me, me, and me..."
"So I’ve come to a point where I’m seriously examining the ethics of personal blogging, and just how far one should or shouldn’t take their personal stories..."
Now, I don't know about you, but I've asked myself similar, if not the same, questions. The comments make interesting reading...
I originally went to visit Molly because somebody sent me the link knowing how interested I was in all things web and design, and that's the main feature of the site, finding the above conversation was a bonus.

I don't know what I've done to my blog - everything is centered, whether I asked it to or not. And FIREFOX! - don't get me started on THAT! everything is out of whack in firefox ::sighs::
Oh well, b***** it - we are going out for a seafood meal to celebrate Noel's promotion.
I thought I was on the wrong blog ! You put him a new dress on ! Looks wonderful and everything is in place (just saw your remark) ! Did you see, I did it with my blogs too, since I can do it now, I could change everyday lol ! It's so easy (when you know it) I could do it even all 5 min !
And now I could also see how you look like, I don't know but I always thought about you like on the little picture in your profile ! Really ! At the very beginning I was even admiring you that at that (old) age you were blogging !
Nice post. Today, with my new computer, I heard the train for the first time. I was sitting here wondering what the hell it was. It put a big grin on my face.
I have to add, it was the first time I noticed your picture. You are a handsome looking woman.
morning gattina, morning steve...
yep, finally got around to putting in a pic of the real 'me'. It's actually 5 years old, but hey, it still looks like me when I have my glad-rags on...
Steve, I have to ask - did you click on the train to listen? I hope it doesn't just play on when you open the page? I did that with my Xmas song, forgot to turn it off, and because I don't usually have my speakers on - I didn't know for ages.
Glad you heard it now though, it's a bit special, isn't it...
Hi Della, just a quick check in to say hello, I've caught up on my sleep and have started to catch up on my blogroll, you can see how far I've got by your location on the blog roll.
Hi Peter, good to have you back, mind you, you've been so active, hard to know you were away, except of course for your travel tales, sounds like you've had an exhausting time. Yes, I am doing blogroll today too...
I think we've all thought Molly's thoughts at times. I'm not one who readily or often divulges my own private, deep and personal thoughts to others in real life, so I'm not going to do it in my blog. I curse in real life but won't in my blog unless it's to depict a certain situation, like that in my story "The Good, the Bad, the Ugly"...without writing my brother's words verbatim in that story, it would have meant little.
I love the dog and cat pic...that's a beauty.
We are pretty fortunate in this country...except for the droughts (but I blame a lot of the water shortages on the short-sightedness of our politicians...I won't go into that!)
Earthquakes and volcanoes must be so frightening to experience. I used to shudder about them when I was a child, after seeing movies like "House on Green Dolphin Street" that was also a radio serial/play, and other movies set in New Zealand and other areas that suffered these violent acts of nature.
You'd see the earth cracking and splitting in front of people...that scared me far more than any horror movie.

love the personal page!!
Well, I've been through Hurricanes, Blizzards, and a terrifying earthquake.. I hope I don't have more to go yet! Natures disasters are hard to deal with!
Happy Sunday tho it's probably already Monday in YOUR part of the world, haha! So nice to read your comment, Della. I have to agree with Molly...even tho there've been times I've unintentionally stepped on a few toes, my blog is MY space. If someone wants to gripe, let them start up their OWN space, eh! I love your happy faces photos. Got a lovely e-card from a chat/email friend of many years' standing who lives in Perth and she said they're still sweltering there with 40 degree temps and high humidity. How is it in your neck of the woods? We're enduring tons of rain, but that's just the way it goes in Oregon at this time of year. But Spring flowers and trees are in their splenor at the moment...and the air is so fresh and clean! Hope you have a lovely week!
I didn't click the train, it just started playing.
Hi, Dealla,
Thanks you for the link to Molly's. I have questions about what I should or shouldn't post but just like what my title says 'these are my moments'!
Happy blogging!
Your blog still looks inviting, centered or not!
Love that 'caught in the act' picture!
Wow, I had no idea about that wild nature in New Zealand, thanks for the photos and links.
Hi Della ~~ Nice to see te photo of you. Molly's post is very thought provoking. And I am glad we don't have those N.Z. disasters over here.
Take care, my friend, Love, Merle.
Hey Della, love the dog/cat caught in the act pic .. seen it before, but it always makes me smile.
Your blog looks great, I can't see what you think there is wrong !!
Hope you have a great week.
Take care, Meow
Hi Della, well that was spectacular indeed. Your photos were very lovely thanks for sharing. I have been having aslight hiccup with poating photos of late. Will overcome it I am sure.
Hope the seafood dinner was delicious.
Cheers Margaret
My aunt and uncle were coming up to Auckland from Wanganui and were supposed to be on that train in 1953. Due to a glitch of some sort (I can't remember what), they came up later on to spend Christmas with us.
I can still remember the radio news items and having this awful feeling in my head, and I was eight when the Tangiwai disaster happened.
Hi Dellab
A lovely photo of you on your blog and I liked viewing all of your family photos, including the wedding album of your son. All very nice. !! By the way your frizzy hair when you were young was very effective ....I presume that was you!!
The thoughts of Molly were very interesting and I sure many identify with those needs at times as lee has said. Most empathise with her honesty and search for self; to be encouraging and supportive to her. It appears she has bult up a wonderful following of supportive bloggers. But I think it’s impossible to answer many of Mollies questions definitely, it’s a matter of personal preferences as to the content of your blog and the extent you wish to reveal your innermost feelings and thoughts.
I would answer the question “Is it more important to take care of me or others?” on the basis you need to look after yourself firstly; otherwise your ability to ever look after others will be greatly diminished.
Best wishes
Hi Della .
Believe it or not I have just viewed your profile, for the first time there are some great photos there.
Thanks for your visit stay well.xx
I lived thru and witnessed the awesome power of Mt. St. Helens' eruption here in my area back in 1980. There's nothing like it! Della, I'd love it if you'd follow this link and come take my handwriting challenge:
